Thank you card

Using this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge sketch, #212, I created this thank you card for my children to send to a family friend to say thanks (belatedly!! oops!) for their birthday and easter money.  First time I have used this free digi image from Saturated Canary and I think the first time I've used my copics to do blonde hair - I was quite pleased with the results.

    1. Hi Christine, Thanks for the comments, the box is quite simply really, using a template for the shape of the sides (mine are usually 5" at bottom and 4" at top - trapisium shape!) draw round the template on very large piece of card then draw another butting up to the side and repeat twice more so you have 4 (it will curve because of the shape!) draw a tab on one end and along each base, score and glue/stick. I then draw an almost 5" square to put on the bottom. For the top edge you could leave plain or I usually cut 4 strips 4" x 1.5" cut one side with decorative scissors. Score and attach from inside of box. Hope that makes sense!!! I have seen them done in many different shape boxes, tubs, plant pots etc. You could also ask at a florists but they might be a bit big. Would love to see it if you make one! If I get a chance I will put a tutorial up!

    2. Thank you for the instructions.... Not sure I follow totally, but I'll give it a go - it may all make sense when I try it! Oooh actually now I read it again having just typed the above, it's beginning to make sense! What size card do you start off with??? It seems that it would be more than an A4 sheet? I have lots of 12 x 12, but not sure that would be strong enough card to hold up with the weight at the top. I'll give it a go anyway and see what happens!! LOL

You can always email me via my blog if you like - and if I managed to get one constructed, I'll certainly show it to you!
