Experimenting with Christmas cards!

Heading towards the end of November and I was really starting to panic that I had very few Christmas cards done.  I had ort of decided on a design but was still not too sure when I spotted this week's sketch (#336) on Sketch Saturday which was quite similar and just needed a little tweeking of my original design to fit.

My main christmas stamp this year is an Inkylicious Swirly Tree and I have been struggling with a design to fit it.  But with this sketch I am now much happier with the results and have managed to get a small pile done this week.
For this one I have stamped the image with a sticky glue pad and used different mica powders.  I have also used the stamp to create the side panel.

Using the same design I have just changed to silver glitter embossing powder and embellished with some silver candi.

Time to tackle the Christmas Cards

Half term and I really need to get a move on with this years Christmas cards.

This weeks sketch challenge (No 333) at Sketch Saturday gave me some ideas to get started.

The stamp is "Swirly Tree" from Inkylicious.  Polka Dot embossed and back with silver mirri card.  Small strip of paper from old christmas paper stash.

A Veritable Oracle of Information!

Quite a mouthful for a birthday card!! but this is what my Daughter had decided she wanted for her best friends 17th Birthday.  Apparently it is to do with a quote that a teacher said about her.

I used another cutting file from Birds Cards on the Sizzix Eclips with Ecal Software.  Then sprayed with Glitter Spray to relieve the plainess of the white card. Very pleased with the results.

Purple Texture card from Papermania, some crystal gems (meiflower.com), and some paper flowers and candi coloured with copics.

I am entering this card into the following challenges.

Flower Power and Colour Challenge

and another one for the box!

I love the spring colours on this weeks Mod Squad challenge (spring colours) which I used for inspiration for this simple, but hopefully, effective card.  Using the Penny Black Carnival stamp simply stamped 4 times using various versa colour inks and cut out using square nesties.  Mounted onto black card and small sentiment stamped in the bottom right corner of the bottom right image!!  Finished off with small clear crystal gems.

I am also entering this card into the Fab 'n' Funky Flower Power challenge #212.

Shadow Stamping with Birds

Here is another one for my stash of ready to use Birthday Cards.  I have again used the Majestix Sweet Birdhouse set (quickly becoming a favourite set for a quick card).

CAS Shadow Stamping Dragonfly

I promised myself that I would try to build up a small stash of birthday cards over the Easter Holidays but it is going very slowly, I seem to spend more time looking around blogs at everyone else's lovely cards than making my own.

This one is again using some of my new Majestix stamps.

I am going to enter this into the Less is More (Week 167) Challenge - One Layer and Shadow Stamping.

Will try and make/post some more later .

Cupcakes!

I really liked the sketch on this weeks Clean & Simple challenge - #288, so had a hunt through some of my long forgotten stamps looking for something small to use and found this cute cupcake.

Stamped in Momento Black on a 6" square white card, and coloured with Whisper brush pens in mainly pastel colours.  Added a bit of glitter on the toppings and a birthday sentiment.

Also entering Fan-Tastic Tuesday's Challenge 31 - use some pastels

Anniversary Card for Mum & Dad (49th!)

As if I needed a reason to test our some new stamps - picked these up at the Make It craft show as Farnborough just in time to do an Anniversary Card for Mum and Dad.

This set, from Majestix, is the Sweet Birdhouse set.  Inks were various makes including distress inks, and chalk eyes.  Sentiment was also purchase at the show but can't remember whose stand.

Will try and use the rest of the Easter holidays to try and catch up with my card posts from the last couple of months and maybe try and do some more blog challenges.
